This two day class will focus on developing a ring design
that best suits your aesthetic. So, instead of learning a specific
project, you will be creating your own design. The rings shown
above reflect my own sense of style. I will be working with you
based on your skill level too.
Here are some of the possible techniques that can be used
with your ring design:
- Roller printing
- Keum Boo
- Soldering
- Wire or tube rivets
- Heat texturing
- Metal forming
- Tube setting with small stones
Note: Prong and bezel setting will not be taught in
this class. You are welcome to use the technique if you already
know it.
Pre-requisites: Knowledge of how to solder, saw, drill,
and file. |
| |
What to bring to class:
- Sharpie/indelible pen
- Note book to take notes
- Copy of Seller's permit (optional)
- 24 k gold foil, .005 thickness (available from
Art Clay) if you want to do Keum Boo
- 20 gauge sterling silver sheet metal for ring
band
- 22 gauge sterling silver, copper and/or brass
sheet metal in small quantity
You will not need to bring any tools to
class as I will provide them
for you. |
