| Rings: Stone Setting With Prongs And A Mini Bezel - Class Description |
| |

Examples of the rings
that can be made with these skills. |
|
| |
Sometimes you want to dress up a stone by using something other than the traditional bezel. In other situations the stone itself is not conducive to setting with a bezel. This two day class will show you how to accomplish this by using prongs along with a mini-bezel. BTW you will also learn how to make a ring!
Pre-requisites: Basic fabrication and basic soldering skills. |
| |
What to bring to class:
-
20 gauge sterling silver sheet metal. Copper and brass can be used too. You will need a piece long enough to create a band, topper, and min-bezel.
-
18g sterling round silver wire
-
Stone – appropriate size for a ring; bring several options we can discuss the best choice
-
Hard, medium and easy wire solder
-
Permanent ink pen
Note:
Please wear closed toed shoes to class and bring a head band if you have long hair or bangs that fall into your face. There is no need to bring tools to class. You will be provided with everything you need.
