Meet one of my best friends in the studio, the guillotine bench shear. I can’t tell you the amount of time this piece of equipment saves me – I am not the fastest draw in the west with a saw, so I rely frequently on the shear. It will cut up to 6 inch widths of sheet metal. While the manufacturer states the shear will cut non-ferrous metals up to 10 gauge, I use mine up to 18 gauge. They also say that the shear will make 10,000 cuts before the blade needs sharpening. Wow – that is a lot! How many years would it take for me to make 10K cuts? Hmmm……

The safety guard is situated in front of the blade to prevent accidents. Please make sure you use it.
