Organica II Cuff
This cuff was made with 22 gauge sterling silver sheet. Holes
were drilled into the sheet metal in a variety of sizes. I used
an acetylene torch (Mapp gas from the Home Improvement store
also works) to heat and expand the size of the holes. The cuff
was cleaned, filed and sanded. I then curved the metal on a bracelet
mandrel using a rawhide mallet. I used 24 K gold foil and fused
it to the metal on Ultra-Lite kiln. For information on this process,
please see Deb
Jemmott's website. If you decide to make a similar project
using power tools and a torch, please follow all product instructions
that comes with the equipment and get expert guidance if you
are new. Here are some additional guidelines on Torch
Safety. |
