Judith Moore

I was one of the fortunate few to attend Connie's first Design Fundamentals class! And as always, she directed me to a clear and well defined path on my creative journey. Combining colors effectively had always been my nemesis. I could make safe decisions using the color wheel as my guide; however, the time had come to venture beyond the wheel. Square Tetrad what?

I designed "A Touch of Purple" with 19th Century Czech pressed glass beads, Premium Chinese turquoise, Amethyst, Yellow-green Vaseline beads produced in Europe in the mid-to-late 19th century. Balinese ornate silver bead, spacers and bead caps. Coiled and twisted Sterling silver wire. Email Judith.

I made this fun bangle in Connie's Bangles class, which I was lucky enough to attend this past weekend. It is made of sterling silver rectangle wire, which was textured using the rolling mill with a brass texture plate, followed by additional hand-carving using files. Trios of balled up argentium and brass decorate the bangle in alternating fashion. The bangle was then oxidized in a LOS bath and handpolished. I don't think I'm taking this one off! I made this bangle in Connie’s Wide Bangles with Spinners class. The bangle is sterling silver, and the spinners are sterling silver and brass. The entire piece was given a LOS bath. I did not want to use cold connections, so the spinners were soldered closed. This bangle turned out to be a bit of a “problem child” during its fabrication, the seam did not cooperate and there were some splitting edges, but in the end I was able to address the problems and wound up with a piece of jewelry that I love and that is fun to wear. Thanks again to Connie for another great class! Email Tanya.
